Caramelized onions with honey recipe

Caramelized Onion is often used to accompany some dishes to complement either served directly as an appetizer. This recipe of caramelized onion with honey is a very rich Variant. Try it and see how you like.

Ingredients:

-A large onion
-1 tablespoon of honey
-A spoonful of sugar
-White wine
-Olive oil, a dash

Preparation:

To make the caramelized onion with honey, we will use a large onion or several small. It should take into account that the onion volume wanes much since it peels until it caramelizes. Each large onion that is going to use, need a tablespoon of honey and one of sugar, so you must always keep that ratio.

The first thing to do is peel the onions and cut them in the form of juliana but not too large, so then to caramelize them the process will be faster and are more crispy. When you have them all cut, we will pass through a pan with very hot olive oil, until they begin to pocharse.

When the onions start to soften and take a color gold, we will miss honey and sugar, recalling the quantities we have said before. Stir well all the ingredients to mix and let that they are consuming. Remove from time to time so that it does not stick anything.

Once you have already integrated with the onions and consumed the sugar and honey, add half glass of wine for each onion that you've used, and let that be it will consume to fire slow, so cook well. It will take a while, so you don't move the contents of the Pan from time to time.

Once the wine has evaporated, already have list the caramelized onions to serve. If you see that you have been with too much oil, drain it better before storing it. You can use it to make a few hors d'oeuvres or serve it as a side dish for any other recipe. I am sure that will delight your guests.
